Eating ice cream & hiking. What's better than that? :) We enjoyed such a wonderful evening making refreshing herbal ice cream to activate our hike in the Marin hills. Bethanne and I have been friends since we started really diving into our raw dessert/herbal businesses, Edible Goddess & Diviana Alchemy. There are many parallels, and we each have our own take and energy on the topic. I love being able to share in the magic with her, and we've even taught multiple classes together where we teach students to make the most delicious and high vibe sweet treats! Read on for wonderful insights into Bethanne's world, of dedication to excellence in her business Edible Goddess & beyond!
: Interview with Bethanne Wanamaker :
>> What does Dessert Medicine mean to you?
Dessert Medicine means healing through perceived indulgence. Receiving the best of both worlds, so we never have to go without. It’s based in abundance mindset, being able to enjoy the delectables of brilliant formulators and nourish ourselves far beyond where even a natural supplement could take us. It’s a way to bring people together, weaving the concept of Unity Consciousness throughout. It’s the wave of the future, the easiest way to turn many onto progressive health strategies and nutrition, and a delicious way to build and raise the next generation!
>> Tell me about your business, Edible Goddess, and how it all began. What drives your success?
Edible Goddess began initially because of a traumatic experience in my life that ultimately gave me direction, purpose, and an understanding for why I’m alive. Every single thing I do in my business is based on my WHY, and it’s ingrained into every morsel of me. I’ve seen way too much unnecessary suffering and death within my family, and have chosen instead to lead a life with intention, higher consciousness, and with a defined mission of experiencing radiant health (physical & mental) forevermore. I believe it’s possible for every person on our planet, and that it’s in part my role to awaken, guide, mentor, and encourage them to see it. I’ve come to love being the one that shakes up someone’s life in the most positive way ever!
This is at the core of what I do, and comes through in many different forms: as an herbal chocolate line, edible skincare line, beauty elixir powders, international retreats, personal and business coaching, and as the outline for classes I teach. It’s all the same to me!
>> What is your daily herbal routine, and are there any favorite herbs you use?
I adore herbal tonics + beauty elixirs on a daily basis. They are so full spectrum, it’s hard to not fall in love! Giving you what you need, anytime of day, it’s like having the answer you need in any moment. It’s quite the challenge to pick favorites, so I’ll give you a few that come right to mind.
Cordyceps - I have a strong attraction to this medicinal mushroom & have for almost a decade. Even though it’s renowned for sustained energy, I resonate with it as a healer & #1 supporter of the lungs. It regenerates the cells in your lungs, helping one to heal from grief or sadness, and that’s pure plant intelligence right there!
Pearl Extract (freshwater) - For all things beauty, it’s the “secret” An ancient wisdom tool for women who preferred to look 25+ years younger than they actually are, it’s something you can bathe in, consume in elixirs, and use as a face mask. I use it in place of make-up (health from the inside out).
Goji Berry Extract - we remove the sugars & starches to concentrate the medicinal constituents, resulting in a sweet but non sugary unbelievably tasty powder. It’s different than just goji berry powder, which has not been extracted. I tend to eat multiple spoonfuls of it every couple days and it just makes me a happy, uplifted, light, bright, and cheery smile emoticon.
Other TOP favorites: gynostemma (the herb that does everything), eucommia (skin health, tissues, skeletal system), schisandra (broad beauty benefits, true fully body tonic), and black maca root extract (a concentrated form of the common raw maca, resulting in an immediate libido boost, feeling alert + awake + recharged, and short & long term hormonal balance (it really works, I just had my hormones tested and was told they are at (shockingly) seriously healthy levels.
>> How do you stay energized to do all that you do?
3 main reasons: 1) I’m a product of all my creations 2) This isn’t a business to me, it’s my life, so it’s easy (and so beautiful!) because there’s no separation between my worlds 3) I have unbelievable endurance and will work tirelessly for anything I believe in. Not only do I believe in what I’m doing with all of my heart, but it’s the primary way that I know I can serve people on a grand scale, helping the people of our world to be more happy, and healthy!
